This coordinator will lead or substantially assist other coordinators and the Coordinator for Diversity in Research and Education in the execution of clinical trials and longitudinal cohort studies at PMC. This work includes the recruitment and retention of potential research participants with a particular emphasis on African-American participants. This research recruits a spectrum of older adults including persons with no cognitive impairment and persons with cognitive impairment caused by Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. Additional duties include assisting in preparation and submission of IRB documents, coordinating and maintaining sponsor or CRO documentation, scheduling study visits per protocol and participating in ongoing rater certification, protocol training and compliance meetings. A Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations preferred. Effective communication, writing skills, and problem-solving capabilities are necessary. Candidate must have the ability to multi-task and work both as part of a team and independently. Candidate will have experience and a comfort level working with older adults and their family members, and with using education and outreach to achieve diversity in research with a particular focus on the African-American community.
