Svitanya (Eastern European Folk Music) Svitanya is a women’s vocal ensemble whose mission is to bring the beautiful folk music of Eastern Europe to a wide range of audiences. Their repertoire, performed a cappella or with traditional instruments, draws upon a variety of regional traditions.

Food & Company hosts communal cooking sessions at community locations where senior (and intergenerational!) participants gather to prepare delicious, healthy soups and stews such as carrot ginger soup, kale & chickpea stew, and roasted butternut squash soup! Senior volunteers can take soup home for themselves or share with friends/neighbors in need and the rest is donated to local seniors in need through community partner organizations. We are always looking for new community partners, volunteer cooks (all skill levels welcome!) and partners in need of delicious donations!  Join us for one of our upcoming cooking sessions: Wednesday, Dec 21, at the West Philadelphia Senior
