University of Pennsylvania researcher Edward Lee, MD, PhD, received the Alzheimer’s Association Excellence in Neuroscience Mentoring Award, which honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the mentoring of dementia scientists.
In accepting the award, Dr. Lee reflected on the opportunity to provide mentorship to those who needed it most.
“I think the most impactful or satisfying part about mentoring is helping those who are struggling,” said Dr. Lee.
Dr. Lee has served on over 50 thesis committees and is the course director for a national, NIA-funded career development workshop for neuropathology trainees.
Dr. Lee is the associate director of Penn’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and an associate professor of pathology and laboratory medicine.
