Research is made possible by you
Research moves us closer to a treatment and to a better future for patients and their loved ones. At PMC, we conduct a variety of research — from clinical trials testing novel drugs to studies about patient and caregiver experiences. Our dedicated participants and funding make this research possible.
A Message from PMC Co-director Dr. David Wolk
Over the last five years, there has been greater recognition of the considerable public health significance of Alzheimer’s disease, which has resulted in significant increases in federal funding for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias. We applaud the increase in funding targeting Alzheimer’s Disease. Despite this growth in funding, there remains important gaps in support that only philanthropy can effectively address.
Further, philanthropic funds allow for more scientific creativity and flexibility not available with federal funding that ultimately move the field forward. We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received, but continue to need continued philanthropy to maximize our impact on the field and, ultimately, benefit our patients here at Penn.
