Laura Schankel is the director of clinical research operations at Penn Memory Center. She joined PMC in 2018 as a clinical research coordinator and later became project manager for the ABC study and associated NIH-funded research projects. During her time at PMC, she has coordinated studies including LEADS, Pegasus, ADNI3, and TRAILBLAZER-ALZ-2. Before joining PMC, Schankel worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she focused her research on exploring approaches to optimize treatment for individuals with comorbid mental illness and HIV/AIDS. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and anthropology from Lehigh University and has a master’s degree in psychology from Southern New Hampshire University.
