Welcome to Bob’s Last Marathon
Now proudly hosted by the Penn Memory Center (PMC), Bob’s Last Marathon is a podcast that has become a lifeline for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. With over 75 episodes, this beloved podcast offers insights, resources, and emotional support for patients, caregivers, and families navigating the challenges of dementia.
About the Podcast
Bob’s Last Marathon was inspired by the deeply personal journey of Lena Chow Kuhar, who launched the podcast after her husband, Robert Kuhar, was diagnosed with mixed dementia (vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease) at PMC in 2013.
Lena, a health care communications professional, faced overwhelming challenges as a caregiver. Drawing from her experiences, she created the podcast to guide others through the Alzheimer’s journey—from the shock of diagnosis to caregiving milestones, coping with relentless changes, and eventually finding peace at the final milestone.
