Ashal joined the Penn Memory Center in 2025 as the lead clinical research coordinator for the ONO study. She holds a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Harvard University. Prior to joining the PMC, she conducted research in the Arlotta Lab at Harvard, where she modeled neurodegenerative disease development using human brain organoids. She also gained experience with portable MRI and imaging as an undergraduate researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital, working with Dr. Farrah Muteen’s lab to advance neurological care for global populations with limited access to imaging services.
