Katrina Hertz is serving as a Social Work Fellow at the Penn Memory Center.
She earned her Master of Social Work in May 2025 from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice. During the past academic year, she completed her practicum at Uplift Center for Grieving Children. There she facilitated group grief counseling for caregivers, youth, and families, and trained community partners to create spaces responsive to grieving adults and children. Her experience supporting individuals and families through grief and loss aligns closely with the Center’s mission of offering holistic, high-quality care to people living with dementia and their families.
During Katrina’s fellowship year, she is focusing on advancing intergenerational care for those impacted by memory loss through psychotherapy and other supportive services. Her path to social work was shaped by earlier roles in education, nonprofit work, and community impact coordination.
