Karen Slater, MD, is a PGY-5 Geriatric Psychiatry Fellow and is thrilled to welcome Philadelphia as her new home. Originally from Houston, TX, she attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston McGovern Medical School and completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH, where she served as Academic Chief Resident and received the Distinguished Clinical Educator Award. Her clinical interests include psychotic depression, mania, and catatonia in geriatric patients. Outside of work, she enjoys reading Brandon Sanderson novels, attending fitness and dance classes, and exploring Philly’s food scene with her husband, family, and friends.
